Health Services Pavilion Retro-Commissioning
The North Kansas City Hospital retained sys-tek to evaluate the HVAC systems serving the operating rooms as they were experiencing issues with low humidity. sys-tek performed retro commissioning services from April 26 through April 28, 2011. The retro commissioning included testing of each operating room’s dual duct terminal unit and corresponding humidifier. Each terminal unit was tested for both temperature control as well as humidification control. The commissioning process provided a systematic means for stepping through and validating the operation of each piece of equipment.
North Kansas City Hospital is comprised of Building 1, Building 2, and the Health Services Pavilion. The work completed in this study was on the second floor of Building 2. The study focused on operating rooms 1-14 due to problems with low humidity levels. Each operating room has a dual duct box dedicated to providing temperature control and a humidifier to provide humidity control.
